Took about three weeks to turn down the static

I've worked around heavy machinery for the better part of two decades, so I'm no stranger to the constant baseline hum that settles in your ears. I picked up a couple bottles of Whispeara not expecting a full mute button, but just hoping to take the edge off the static at night. For the first two weeks, I didn't notice much of a shift in my hearing at all. Right around the start of week three, I realized I was actually falling asleep without needing the bedside fan on high to drown out the noise.
